A Little Bit About Me
Welcome to the place where giving fewer shits is a lifestyle choice.
Hi! I’m Shieliene, and everything I write began in 2021 when my sister died and the life I thought I knew cracked open. Grief didn’t just break my heart. It broke the version of myself I had been holding together for everyone else.
In the months that followed, my family pulled away, and the people I believed would stand with me simply… didn’t. The abandonment was its own kind of loss, one that forced me to question every role I had ever played and every expectation I had ever tried to meet. When everything you’ve been taught to be falls apart, you’re left with the truth of who you actually are.
I started writing because I needed somewhere to put the weight I’d been carrying. I kept writing because losing so much made room for something I didn’t expect: a voice that wasn’t shaped by obligation or fear or performance. A voice that finally belonged to me.
This space is where that voice lives now. It’s honest. It’s vulnerable. It’s shaped by grief, by rebuilding, and by the quiet courage it takes to choose yourself when the world you trusted disappears.
Take a breath. You don’t have to hold everything alone. You get to set some of it down here.
